The Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives was on recess from July 1 to September 26, 2018, but the first month of the New Year was spent mainly on carrying out representative works. The major parliamentary event of the month was the speech delivered by His Excellency President Taye Atseke slassie at the joint opening ceremony of the 6th House of Peoples’ Representatives and the 5th year of the House of Federation. He presented the government’s main policy directions for 2018. On this day, the launch of the ETV-Parliament television channel, a new and positive start for the House, was also announced. In addition, the joint agreement with the House of People’s Representatives; a major milestone for our institution, Bridge Research and Innovation, was one of the noted highlights of the month. This eighth edition of Bridge, and the first of the year, reinforces the HoPR’s September 2018 agenda and the points of agreement our institution has made with the House.
